Our Mission
“The Soup Kitchen is a volunteer organization of dignity and love, supporting people in their journey towards a better life, relying entirely on the donations of the community and the work of volunteers.”
The Soup Kitchen relies totally on the generosity of individuals and local businesses for support. We don't request and don't receive any form of government support of any kind, because the dignity of the people we serve is of utmost importance. We aim to provide assistance to anyone who walks in and requests it - no paperwork, no questions, and no fear or embarrassment.
The Soup Kitchen operates extremely efficiently - We can and do provide a complete hot meal for just $1.16 on average! In 2010 we served 206,641 hot meals and distributed 120 grocery bags every day. That's a 37,440 bags just for 2010.
Since 2006 we served 866,205 meals to very needy people improving many children's life and future. Only 4 paid staff members, a large number of wonderful volunteers and the generous support of individuals like you makes possible for this vision to come alive.
